Ruffle Skirts for Gabriella and Laura
I added a "ribbon flower" for fun, little girls love this and while they still can let them have fun with it |
I did want the hem to be too heavy so I saw an idea in Belindas Sew-4-Fun Blog and used my overlocker and hemmed using a 2 thread wrapped overlock |

Ottobre Valmuska jacket 4-2010-22
Valmuska jacket made to be worn with the Seitikke "mushroom skirt" that I blogged about a couple of days ago. Pretty satisfied with the result.
I think the knit is a Ponte Roma Knit, it is lovely and soft. I lined it with another knit, the jacket should be comfortable and warm.
Button Broach
It was so simple to make this broach, just a few pieces of ribbon and a large button to hold it. Just had to follow instructions.
Coverstitch hem
The hem was easy to do. The lining was pushed into the hem and coverstitched.

Chef Hats and aprons for my twin grandsons age 3 1/2. They are convinced that the hats have to be white.

Ottobre 4/2010 Seitikki Ballon Skirt
Ottobre Girls skirt Autumn 4 2010 - No 21 Seitikki balloon skirt
My first article using Otterbre. This is for my granddaughter Gabriella, age 5 yrs. I hope she is going to love this balloon skirt. The embroidery was much easier than I thought it would be. I sewed this in a velour with a lining.
With the advice of many on PR as well as the Ottobre english sewing group forum I decided not to risk the complete freehand embroidery and simply did a straight stitch, sometimes 3 - 5 times over, as well as one of the simple embroidery stitches on my sewing machine. The pocket was easy as well and it gives that extra detail that little girls will love.
Instead of the waistband I did a hip width elasticated waistband as I was unsure of gabriellas exact waist measurement. I also added buttonhole elastic and 2 buttons on the centre back so that she can use it longer than just a few months hopefully.
